Greensboro, Ga. (September 26, 2008) - Pete Dye, whose golf courses consistently rank in the Top 10 in the country according to GOLF Magazine, Golf Digest and Golfweek, will add to his impressive roster of courses with his next design at Reynolds Plantation on Lake Oconee in Georgia.  Dye adds his name to a who's who of world-class architects who have built courses at Reynolds, including Bob Cupp, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Fazio, Rees Jones and Jim Engh.

The 82-year-old Dye, who will be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in November, will design the site as a walking course.  Dye is enthusiastic about the piece of land he will work with at the Lake Oconee community:  "It's a great piece of ground.  It's got great vegetation, the lake is beautiful, so you just try to do your very best," says Dye.  "The site has marvelous tree coverage and water - all the aspects to make a good golf course.  You've got good topography.  It's got movement, but nothing harsh enough where you can't walk."

The Reynolds family continues to invest in amenities for its communities and engaged Dye for the 6th course at Reynolds Plantation because of Dye's reputation for innovation.  Chairman and CEO Mercer Reynolds says of Dye, "Bringing Pete Dye here as the next architect really makes a terrific statement about this golfing community. Pete is an icon in the industry, someone who brings high quality golf wherever he goes, someone who has a passion for the game. I think what we will see from Pete's involvement is a strengthened level of commitment to golf here at Reynolds Plantation and we are all thrilled to have him on board."

Dye has mentored or worked with many of the architects with courses at Reynolds, although that won't stop him from trying to create the signature course at the golf and lake community.  "It's good to work with and have four or five different types of golf courses, because golfers go all over to play different types of golf courses," says Dye.  "It's a lot of fun to be competitive like that."

Site work has begun on the new private golf course which will be located just northeast of the member-only Creek Club.  Homesites will be available at a later date.  For more information, visit www.reynoldsplantation.com.
